Florence Erma “Patti” McKelvey, 80, of Findlay, passed away at 4:53 p.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at the Bridge Hospice Care Center in Findlay. She was born the youngest of 13 children to Thomas Reed and Ida Mae (Meade) Bloomfield in Portsmouth, Ohio on April 24, 1939. She married Bennett Smith in August of 1954 and they later divorced. She then married Donald McKelvey and he preceded her in death in July of 1999. Patti was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.
Patti is survived by her daughter, Sherri ( Brian ) Ziessler of Findlay; a son, Bennett (Brenda) of Lockbourne, OH; son-in-law, Mike Blantz, of Annville, PA; 6 grandchildren, Wendy (Matt Thompson) Skaggs, of Louisville, KY, Jason (Catie) Ziessler of Cowpens, SC, Crystal (Nick) Naka, of Columbus, OH, Eric (Hanna) Ziessler of Sumter, SC, Brian Riegle, of Columbus, OH, and Sean (Courtney) Ziessler of Curtice, OH; 9 great-grandchildren, Timothy, Corey, Anthony, Daved, Dillon, Nichole, Paige, Easton, and Levi. She was also survived by many nieces and nephews and extended family. Florence was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Blantz; a granddaughter, Laura Smith; 7 brothers, Wells, Virgil, Eugene, Floyd, Bob, Tom Jr., and Paul; and 5 sisters, Ruth, Mary, Virginia, Wilma Jean, and Betty.
The family would like to recognize all the caring and compassionate “family” at Hospice; Jodie, Julie, Jamie, Jen, Jane, Amber, Diann, Brenda, Michelle, Melissa T, Melissa H, Vickie, and Briana. You are all truly amazing people, Thank-you.
Friends and family may visit on Monday from 5-7 p.m. at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, at 11 a.m. at the First Church of the Nazarene, 2501 Broad Ave., Findlay, with Pastor Mike McClurg officiating. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to service (10-11 a.m.) at the church on Tuesday. Memorial contributions in Patti’s name may be made to Bridge Home Health and Hospice.
