Janet Cole Obituary

Janet B. Cole, 84, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, of Findlay, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on September 5th in Bridge Hospice at Birchaven Village.
Janet was born in Beaver County Pennsylvania to the late Rev. Ernest and Reba Hall on November 1, 1934. She was a lifelong member of the Churches of God. She grew up in Pennsylvania, graduated from Mount Pleasant High School, and came to Findlay to attend The University of Findlay. She received her teaching certificate from Bowling Green State University. Janet worked as a third-grade teacher at Deshler and Carey Elementary Schools. She taught in the Deshler Migrant Head Start Program and Carey Head Start Program. Janet spent many years caring for her children in her home. She had a love for children and learning, sharing her joy for reading with all.
Janet devoted her life to her five children, her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. An avid reader, she always had a book with her. She enjoyed playing games, especially Scrabble, bingo, card games, and flower gardening. Janet loved dogs and cats and there were always several in her home. She traveled extensively across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Her favorite trips were to California and Charleston, SC with family. Janet enjoyed and cherished all the family gatherings celebrating the holidays and birthdays. She was famous among her grandchildren for bringing Dirt Pudding to all family events.
Janet is survived by her four children, Brenda (Nancy McConn) Cole, Blissfield, MI, Vicki Brunn, Van Wert, Renee (Andrew) Hvizdos, Findlay, Greg (Tricia Fugee) Cole, Bowling Green; son-in-law, Sam Grim; and sister, Faith (Harry) Carl-Kyser, Latrobe, PA. Surviving also are fifteen grandchildren, Kale Lohman, Ann Arbor, MI, Annie Temple, Toledo, Aaron (Tonia Marie) Cowell, Toledo, Erin (Edgar) Gray Becerra, La Habra, CA, Seth (Amber) Gray, San Diego, CA, Matthew Cook, Findlay, Tyler (Kira) Cook, Los Angeles, CA, Debbie Cook, Findlay, Josh (Beth) Cole, Bowling Green, Samantha (James) Beams, Boca Raton, FL, Ian Cole, Boca Raton, FL, Jessi Cole, Brett Cole, Alex Cole, Valerie Fleming, Michael Fleming, all of Findlay; seventeen great-grandchildren, soon to be 18; many nieces and nephews; and loving friend, Neil Vermillion. Janet was preceded in death by parents, Ernest and Reba Hall; daughter, Charisa Grim; brother, David Hall; brother-in-law, Rev. Charles Carl; and son-in-law, S. Richard Cook S. Cook Sr. At Janet's request, there will be no visitation. Services for Janet will be private, and her cremains will be placed in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Charleston, South Carolina.
