Miriam E. Baumunk, 91, of Findlay, passed away on Friday, November 8, 2019 at her residence. She was born on December 3, 1927 in McMechen, WVA to the late Rev. Franklin and Rev. Mary (Baughman) Handley. She graduated from Columbia City High School, in Columbia Indiana in 1946. Miriam married Burgess R. Baumunk on October 11, 1947 and he preceded her in death on July 17, 2005. She was a member of College First Church of God, a choir member and soloist at many churches and clubs in four states. Miriam organized a Brownie Scout troop in the College St. area and was a Brownie Scout leader in McComb, Ohio. She retired after 30 years of service at RCA and was a member of the RCA’s retirees club.
Miriam is survived by her daughters, Connie (John) Breitigam, of Bradenton, FL, Carol Lydick, of Findlay, and Lora (Scott) Ernst, of Fostoria; daughter-in-law, Joyce Baumunk; 19 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Miriam was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sons, Darrell and Ronald Baumunk; brother, Dwight Handley; twin granddaughters, Ranel and Rachelle Baumunk; great-grandson, John H. Breitigam III; and a great-granddaughter, Ashley Bennett.
Friends and family may visit on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 from 1-3 and 5-7 p.m. at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor David Welker officiating. Burial will follow at Knollcrest Cemetery in Arcadia. Memorial contributions in Miriam’s name may be made to College First Church or to Bridge Home Health and Hospice.
