Allegonda F. "Gonny" Mccracken

Allegonda F. “Gonny” McCracken, age 76, of Van Buren, peacefully passed into the arms of her Lord and Savior on December 17, 2023, at Bridge Hospice Care Center. Born on March 4, 1947 in Lichtenvoorde, the Netherlands, she was the daughter of Herman and Maria (Oriens) Holweg.

Gonny graduated from high school and continued her education earning her degree in nursing at St. Jozef in Doetinchem, Netherlands. In 1968, she married Donald R. McCracken, where she met him in Ettelbruck, Luxembourg. Gonny taught Red Cross County Learn to Swim Program and volunteered. She was a member of the International Club and a longtime member of Parkview Church of Christ where she also volunteered. Gonny had many hobbies and interests, among them gardening, quilting, crossword puzzles, swimming, and yes, snowmobiling! After many years of working, she retired from Owens Brockway.

Gonny is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Donald; her two sons, Marcus, and Rodney; three beloved grandchildren, Ava, Nico, and Marli; her sister, Hettie (Ruud); and brother, Wilfred (Marijke). In addition to both parents, Gonny was preceded in death by two brothers and their spouses, Joop (Josephine), and Nico (Marijke).

Friends and family may visit Friday, December 22, 2023, from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd., Findlay (419-422-1500). Gonny’s memorial service will follow visitation at 3 p.m. with Pastor Joel Johnson officiating.
