Barney Tooman Sr.

Barney J. Tooman Sr., 86, of Findlay, passed away May 24, 2025, at Blanchard Valley Hospital.

He was born in Findlay on May 21, 1939, to Kenneth and Katherine (Zender) Tooman.

Barney married Georgia (Iler) Tooman on April 27, 1962, in Monroe, Michigan. Following their marriage, they were blessed with two children, Anne Tooman of Tempe, AZ, and Barney (Amanda) of Findlay.

In addition, survivors include grandson, Kenneth Tooman; granddaughter, Emma Tooman; great-grandson, Andon Tooman; great-granddaughter, Elouise Tooman; and many nieces and nephews.

Barney worked in construction and was a 62-year member of Laborers Union 175. He had many hobbies in his lifetime, including beekeeping and wine making in which he made many meads using the honey from his bees.

A big thank you to Renee and Doug for their time helping him these last two years.

Barney was preceded in death by his parents; his grandson, Joshua Tooman; sisters, Maxine Loudenslager, and Edna Smith, and brother, Serge Tooman.

Per Barney’s wishes, there will be no formal services. The family will have a celebration of Barney’s life at a later date. HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd., Findlay, (419-422-1500) is honored to serve Elaine’s family.
