Betty J. (Gangle) Thomas

Betty Jean (Gangle) Thomas, age 92, of Findlay, passed away peacefully December 6, 2024, at Bridge Hospice Care Center.

She was born on December 12, 1931, in Fremont, Ohio, to Lloyd and Ruth (Wright) Gangle. Betty married Donald W. Thomas on January 10, 1953, and shared 62 years of marriage until Donald’s death in 2015.

Betty was a clerk at Brookside Pharmacy and retired after 12 years of service. She loved her family fiercely and served as a den mother in Cub Scouts.

Betty is survived by her children, Bob (Linda) Thomas of Ashley, OH, Barb (Lee) Orians of Carey, OH, and Kathy (Keim) Thomas-McIlvaine of Carey; beloved grandchildren, Scott Thomas of Ashley, OH, Jordan (Alex) Reed of Perrysburg, OH, and Nicole (Zachary) Sauber of Carey; great-grandchildren, Stella Reed, Camden Reed, Cason Sauber, and Molly Sauber. In addition, Betty is also survived by her brother, David (Lois) Gangle of Albany, OR; sisters-in-law, Helen Thomas and Patricia Nicholson; and her best friend of nearly 50 years, Doris Ward.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Joyce Anttila, and Delores Lundy; and brother, Richard Gangle.

Friends and family may visit from 11 a.m. to the time of Betty’s service to celebrate her life at 12 noon on Monday, December 16, 2024, at Knollcrest Cemetery Chapel in Arcadia.
