Findlay

Chad Eugene Lotz, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2026, at the Toledo ProMedica Hospital at the age of 68.

He was born December 5, 1957, in Napoleon, OH, to Norman G. and Aileen (Amos) Lotz.

Chad proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps. Following his service, he spent more than 16 years as an over-the-road semi-truck driver.

Above all else, Chad devoted his life to his family. He could often be found relaxing on the front porch with a cigarette and an ice-cold Diet Mountain Dew in hand. Chad loved sharing stories, offering advice, and teaching his grandchildren the art of a proper prank. His sense of humor, wisdom, and unwavering love for his family will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Those left behind to cherish Chad’s memory are his loving wife of 38 years, Donna Lotz; his daughter, Kassandra (Michael) Heistand of Van Buren, and his son, Charles (Ellie) Lotz of Cygnet; 5 beloved grandchildren, Alexis, Xavier, Jackson, Serenity, and Kaiden.

Chad was preceded in death by both his parents.

In honor of Chad’s wishes, the Lotz family has decided to have their patriarch cremated so that they may hold his memories nearer to their hearts. HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd., Findlay, (419-422-1500) is honored to serve Chad’s family.

“Your wings were ready, but my heart was not.”
