Charles E. Mcmonigal

Charles Eddie McMonigal, 73, of Fostoria, OH, passed away Thursday, October 1, 2020 at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima, OH. He was born on February 10, 1947 in Ottawa, OH to Charles D and Evelyn I. (Radabaugh) McMonigal. Charles was married in 1974 to LuAnn Harden (mother of his children) and they later divorced.

Charles was a proud Vietnam Veteran who served his country with the United States Navy. He retired after 15 years of custodial work with Findlay City Schools. Charles loved spending time with his grandchildren, who affectionately called him “Grandpa Mackie”. He also enjoyed swimming in the Gulf of Mexico, collecting antiques, debating politics, and playing the lottery.

Charles is survived by his daughter, Freda Bortal (Polly Bosworth) of Mesa, AZ; sons, Brent McMonigal (Danielle Smith) of Fostoria, OH, Alex McMonigal (Jenni Grove) of Wayne, OH; 7 grandchildren, Molly, Quinn, Liam, Chloe, Aubree, Alize`, and Alyx Nicole; siblings, Pamalan (Ronald) Koehnke, and Robert (Christa) McMonigal, both of Findlay, OH. He is also survived by many loved nieces, nephews, and cousins; his best friend, Mona Masten; and his beloved dog, Miss America. Charles was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Daniel J. McMonigal.
