Claranne Bohn, age 61, of Bloomdale passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at her home surrounded by family and friends.
She was born June 20, 1964, in Fremont to Herbert and Mary Gabel.
Clare is survived by her husband, Dave Bohn of 18 years; daughters, Rachel Campbell, and Sarah (Reece) Crawford; stepsons, Austin Bohn, and Travis (Jenna) Bohn; two grandsons, Wyatt and Weston Bohn. In addition, she is survived by her sister, Joanne (Gabel) Kosta, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and beloved family members.
Clare was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Mary Gabel; sisters, Roseanne (Gabel) Walker, and Marianne Gabel.
Clare was a 1982 graduate of Vanguard and St. Joseph Central Catholic Schools. After graduation she became a hairstylist which she took pride in for over 30 years. She also became a real estate agent during the last 10 years of her career. She was very heavily involved in the community, often volunteering and fundraising at the City Mission, Humane Society, and Cancer Patient Services. Clare was also a strong supporter and volunteer of the Children's Mentoring Connection.
Clare loved to sing, dance, and listen to music. She often could be found singing her heart out at Keith Urban concerts with her friends or singing in the St. Michael’s Church Choir. Clare was an artist who showed her passion through crafting and painting beautiful pieces of artwork. When Clare wasn’t crafting, she was always busy making her famous “Clare’s Peanut Clusters” that everyone loved. You could always find her at a local craft show with her crafts and peanut clusters. She enjoyed being a part of craft shows so much that she started her own Bloomdale Craft Show, which eventually turned into a Craft and Car Show. When she needed a break from her busy life, you could find her in her garden tending to her flowers that she took a lot of pride in or relaxing at the family cottage and soaking up the sun on the boat with her husband Dave and friends. She was a very loving, funny and huge-hearted woman. Clare had many titles throughout her life, but some of her most favorites were mother, wife, and friend.
A celebration of Clare’s life will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 865 State Route 635, Helena, OH 43435. HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd., Findlay, (419-422-1500) is honored to serve Clare’s family.
