Cynthia E. “Cindie” (Decker) Baker, 66, of Findlay, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Bridge Hospice Care Center, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born November 15, 1959, in Lima, Ohio, to Paul and Evelyn (DeCamp) Decker.
Cindie was a Rawson High School graduate and furthered her education at the University of Phoenix, where she earned her associate’s degree in business. Cindie dedicated many years of service as manager of the Recreation Lanes “The Rec” bowling alley in Findlay before retiring.
A passionate bowler, Cindie was a proud member of the Women’s Bowling Association and the 300 Club, the first ever female to bowl a 300 in the Findlay area. She was also a member of the Small Paws Foundation, reflecting her deep love for ALL animals.
Cindie enjoyed bowling, bingo, volleyball, and softball, and she was a devoted fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, O-H! Known to many as “Sox”, Cindie’s love of collecting socks and bears was just one of her many charming qualities. Cindie found great joy in giving gifts to others and had a generous spirit that made everyone around her feel special and loved.
Those left behind to cherish Cindie’s memory is her significant other, Gary L. Carter of Findlay; her children, Bo Zent of Findlay, Brandie Verhoff of Ottawa, and Brittanie Ray of Marion; twelve grandchildren, Zoe Zent, Taylor Zent, Kaitlin Zent, Allison Zent, Bo Zent Jr., Paige Verhoff, Emma Verhoff, Anna Verhoff, Evan Verhoff, Haylie Lauwers, Benjamin Lauwers, and Cole Lauwers; and two great-grandchildren, Paris and Carter. In addition, she is also survived by her sisters, Diana Chess of Cridersville, and Kathy Parish of Gilboa.
Cindie was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Mark Decker, and Samuel Decker; and two granddaughters, Alexis Zent, and Destiney Zent.
A celebration of Cindie’s life is being planned for a later date. Her family encourages those who knew and loved her to remember her in their own special way. HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd., Findlay, (419-422-1500) is honored to serve Cindie’s family.
