David G Hites

February 26, 1952 — June 12, 2025

Findlay

David Glenn Hites, born February 26, 1952, to the late Glenn Hites and Louise Bowdle (Hamilton) in Kenton, Ohio, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus on June 12, 2025, at the age of 73.

A man of deep faith, David was a religious individual who embraced Christianity and found solace in his beliefs. Throughout his life, he was known for his laid-back and easy-going nature, always ready to lend a helping hand, and was deeply caring and loving to those around him. David found joy in tending to his garden/yard, and cooking meals to share with friends and family.

David was a proud graduate of Upper Scioto Valley and dedicated much of his professional life to Werk-Brau, from which he eventually retired. His commitment to his community was evident through his active participation in the 1010 Bible Church and as a member of the Moose Lodge. These organizations were a testament to his desire to connect with others and contribute positively to the lives around him.

David’s personal life was marked by significant milestones, including his cherished marriage of 53 years to Cheri Jo Newhouse (Hites) who predeceased him. Together, they built a life filled with love and shared experiences.

He leaves behind his three daughters, Annette Byrd, Heather (Stewart) Pelton, and Shannon (Jason) Romick; five grandchildren, Bryson, Jeffery, Zachary, Dasan, and Makenna; two great-grandchildren, Cashton and Myles; four siblings, Marsha Cluff, Dan Hites, Dale Hites, and Denise Hamilton, who were the lights of his life and will continue to carry forward his legacy of kindness and compassion.

In accordance with his wishes, a private gravesite service led by Pastor Jeff Topping will be held with immediate family at a later date. Family will be coordinating a dinner for friends to attend at 1010 Church and announcements will be sent out. HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd., Findlay, (419-422-1500) is honored to serve David’s family.

In closing, we find comfort in the words of Matthew 5:4, “Blessed are they that mourn; for they shall be comforted,” knowing that David’s spirit lives on in the hearts of those he touched.
