Donald G. August

Donald G. August, 82, of Findlay, passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at the Bridge Hospice Care Center.  He was born on July 28, 1938 to the late Steven and Margaret (Beres) August. Don graduated from Findlay High School and went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army. He married Kathleen May and she preceded him death. Don worked for Cooper Tire and retired after 35 years of service. He was a member of the Cooper Tire Fishing Club, Findlay Moose Lodge #698 and a life time member of the D.A.V.

Don is survived by his children, Lloyd Greer and Rhonda Greer; 7 grandchildren, Michael Greer, Shelia Southern, Anthony Greer, Carrie Manns, Jenny Falk, Nathan Strahm, and William Houtz; 21 great-grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; brothers, Robert (Judy) August, and Al (Terry) August; and a sister, Shirlee Gibson. He was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Greer; and a granddaughter, Shawna Greer.

Friends and family may visit on Saturday, November 28, 2020 from 10-11 a.m. at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500). A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Jim Klausing officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery with the Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad presenting full military rites. Memorial contributions in Don’s name may be made to the Cooper Tire Fishing Club.
