Donald E. "Bubba" Zehender, 65, of Findlay, passed away Friday, August 12, 2016 at the Bridge Hospice Care Center in Findlay. He was born on March 10, 1951 in Findlay to Fred and Betty (Zehender) Roberts. Donald married Nancy (Spence) Zehender in June of 1970 and she survives him.
Donald proudly served his country in the US Army from 1971 - 1974 before being honorably discharged. He was a life member of Amvets, VFW #5645, and the DAV. As well as a member of the American Legion and the Moose Lodge #698.
In addition to his loving wife, Nancy, of 46 years, Donald is survived by his mother, Betty (Zehender) Roberts; sons, Bryan, and Corey Zehender; daughter, Melissa Lytle; 8 grandchildren, Chelsey, and Shelbey Lytle, Aiden Havanas, Chase, Whitney, Ashlynn, and Dalton Zehender, and William Zehender Hamlin; 3 great-grandchildren; brothers, David (Kelly), and Danny (Kathy) Zehender; sisters, Karen (John) Kline, Ann Zehender, Doris Russler, Kathy (Jack) Smith, Caroline (Alan) Stevens, and Linda (John) Sipes. Donald was preceded in death by his father Fred; and brothers, Doug, and Dennis Zehender.
Friends and family may visit on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500). A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. at the conclusion of visitation with the Hancock County Veteran's Memorial Squad performing full military rites. Pastor Jim Klausing will officiate. Interment will take place at a later date in Maple Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Donald's name may be made to the family in c/o Hufford Family Funeral Home.
