Doris L. Luidhardt

Doris L. Luidhardt, 88, of Tiffin, passed away on Friday, May 25, 2018 at the Elmwood at the Shawhan. Doris was born on October 3, 1929 in Tiffin, Ohio to the late Russel and Mildred (Schmidtz) Nye. Doris married Carl Luidhardt on September 6, 1953 and he preceded her in death. Doris worked earlier in her life as a telephone operator for Ohio Bell and also worked for Sears. She was a 50 year member of the First Lutheran Church of Tiffin, the Lydia Circle of First Lutheran, and a member of T.O.P.S., OH #1016. Doris enjoyed her flower gardening and had a great passion for cooking. Doris is survived by her sons, Steve (Kelli), Gary Luidhardt of Tiffin, and Jeff ( Willow) Luidhardt, of Apache Junction, AZ; grandchildren, Jodie, Derek, Kaleb, Winter, and Dove Luidhardt; sister, Arlene Elchert; and sister-in-law, Ruth Boyer;. Doris was preceded in death by her parents; husband, brother, Dale Nye, and a sister, Shirley Samsel. The family would like to extend a thank-you to all the staff at the Elmwood at the Shawhan and to Stein Hospice for all their care and support. Friends and family may visit on Thursday, May 31, 2018 from 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. at First Lutheran Church, 300 Melmore St., Tiffin. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Clayton Bailey officiating. Interment will take place in Greenlawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Doris's name may be made to First Lutheran Church.
