Dorothy Louise Hardwick, 85, of Findlay, surrounded by her loving family, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2024, in the comfort of her home.
Dorothy was born January 26, 1939, in Findlay, to Charles and Bertha (Deckerhoff) Workman. In 1975, she married Billy Hardwick, and he preceded her in death.
Dorothy retired from Blanchard Valley School where she worked as a teacher’s aide for several years. She also worked at The Glove Factory and Haines Candy Company throughout her life. Dorothy was a member of the Findlay Moose Lodge #698, DAV, AMVETS Post 21, and 50 North. She attended Upper Room Church of God. She enjoyed craft shows, going out with girlfriends, walking outdoors, and being around people. Her cocker spaniels were her loves.
Those left behind to cherish Dorothy’s memory are her daughter, Louise Hall; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers, Floyd, Vaughn, and Carl Workman. She also had a brother, Jerry Gilbert, whom she loved dearly.
Friends and family may visit Saturday, February 3, 2024, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd., Findlay, 419-422-1500. Dorothy’s funeral will be held at 11 a.m. following the visitation at the funeral home with Bishop Terry McBeath presiding. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery.
