Dorothy A. Wilkins passed away from this life and into the arms of her Lord on September 26, 2024, at the age of 100 years.
She was born November 1, 1923, in Findlay, to Thomas and Nora (Grimes) Hards. Dorothy met the love of her life, Raymond Wilkins, and they married in 1947. Raymond preceded her in death in 1953.
Dorothy was a Findlay High School graduate, where she was a high school cheerleader. She was a member of Knights of Columbus Leo Councilettes, and Blanchard Valley Hospital Auxiliary for 60 years. She worked as a switchboard operator in the 1940s, then as a bookkeeper for Fornes Brake Service. Dorothy finished her career with the Boy Scouts. Dorothy was an avid Notre Dame Fighting Irish football fan “GO IRISH!”
Dorothy is survived by her much-loved son, Tom Wilkins; nieces and nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, and great-grand nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, John B. Hards, Thomas Hards, and William Hards; and sister, Marguerite (Hards) Miller.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Michael the Archangel Downtown Chapel, 716 W. Main Cross St., Findlay, on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at 11 a.m. with Fr. Melwyn Menezes presiding. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of mass at the church. Interment will follow at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery.
