Edward V. Stang

Edward Vernon Stang, 78, of Findlay went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 12, 2020 in the comfort of his home. He will now have a blessed reunion with his beloved wife Pat. Ed was born on October 29, 1941 in Ft. Loramie, Ohio to the late Joseph and Ruth (Monnin) Stang. On May 23, 1964, he married Patricia Barhorst who became the love of his life.

Ed was a Ft. Loramie High School graduate and went on to attend The University of Findlay earning his Bachelor’s degree. He was a Computer Systems Manager for Marathon Oil Company, retiring with 32 years of service. Ed enjoyed traveling, visiting all 50 states, 5 continents, and the Holy Land. He was a devoted follower of Christ, and an active member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church where he served on the Human Life Committee and as a Eucharistic Minister. Ed was an avid bridge player, including earning a Life Master designation, and enjoyed teaching bridge as well. He was a member of the Elks and the Knights of Columbus.

Ed is survived by his children, Mark Stang, Leanne (Mike) Gossett, Kevin (Margaret) Stang, and  Heather (Brendan) McKillip; grandchildren, Rose (Jonah) Connelly, Hannah Stang, Sarah Gossett, Tommy Stang, Maddie Stang, Ian McKillip, Colin Stang, Samantha Gossett, Emma McKillip, Nate Stang, and Zoe McKillip; brothers, Dave (Louise), Larry (Jeannie), Jim (Peg); sisters, Janice (Bob) Clune, Mary Ann (Dean) Shade, and Nancy (Danny) Reis. Ed was preceded in death by his wife, Pat; his parents; and brother, Bob Stang.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 17, 2020 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Downtown Church on West Main Cross St., Findlay, OH. Monsignor Michael Hohenbrink will celebrate the Mass. Interment will follow in the St. Michael Cemetery. Friends and family may visit on Wednesday, September 16 from 5 – 7 p.m. at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500) where a rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ed's name may be made to the Findlay Women’s Resource Center, 1011 N. Main St., Findlay.
