Elida L. Guinn

Elida Lucia Guinn, 79, of Findlay, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home on January 30, 2020. Born in Michigan on October 5, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Domingo R. and Leonora (Cortez) Chapa. Elida and J. Errol Guinn were united in marriage on May 27, 1976 and he survives her at home.

Elida was a Findlay High School graduate. She worked at Whirlpool and retired after 25 years of service. Elida also owned “El Nopalito” which was located on Lima Avenue in the 70’s where she cooked and managed the Mexican restaurant. She loved garage sales, auctions, antiques, and enjoyed working in her flower beds. Every holiday, she would bring the family together and prepare a big feast for the entire family to enjoy. She was quite the hostess! Elida was also a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 43 years, J. Errol; daughters, Dory DeLaCruz, Teresa (Abel) Palacios, Marianne Baker, and Pam (Bill) Human; 7 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Rudolfo (Josie) Chapa and Orlando Chapa; sisters, Consuelo Chapa and Gloria (Bill) Caskey; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends and family may visit from 2 – 6 p.m. on Monday, February 3, 2020 at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500). A second visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 4th from 10 – 11 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2800 Crystal Ave., Findlay, Ohio 45840 prior to the service at 11 a.m. Bishop Craig Stapley will officiate. Memorial contributions in Elida’s name may be made to Bridge Home Health and Hospice. Interment will be private in Dunkirk Cemetery, Hardin County.
