Emma L. Smith

Emma L. Smith, 81, of Bloomdale, OH, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home with family beside her on Tuesday, October 9, 2018. She was born on March 17, 1937 in Milton Center, OH to the late George and Lillian (Williams) Burton. On February 4, 1961, she was united in marriage to Jimmie E. Smith, who survives. Emma was a certified nurse's aide and retired after 25 years of service. Emma is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Jimmie; sons, David L. Smith of Jerry City, OH, Jimmie E. Smith II of Spencerville, OH; daughters, Dawn Clark of Bloomdale, Diana Feasel of Findlay and Lisa Caudill of Speedwell, TN; 13 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Dick Burton; and sisters, Hazel Horn and Janet Baldridge. Emma was preceded in death by her brothers, Junior, Earl, Robert and Orville Burton; and sisters, Juanita Roach, Mildred Krider, Lora Howell, Myrtle Rigsby and Mary Ann Baldridge. Friends and family may visit on Friday, October 12, 2018 from 12 – 2 p.m. at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500). A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 2 p.m. following visitation on Friday with Pastor Jim Klausing officiating. Interment will follow in Arcadia Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Emma's name may be made to the Bridge Home Health and Hospice.
