Franklin J. Sterling, 80, of Findlay, passed away peacefully July 31, 2025, at Bridge Hospice Care Center.
He was born in Findlay to Alfonzo and Virginia (Smith) Sterling on November 18, 1944. He married Tammy Daniels (Schellenberg) in 1990, they later divorced, and she survives.
Franklin completed his education at Findlay High School before enlisting in the United States Army, where he served in Vietnam. He worked at Centrex, Graham Packaging, and Dow Chemical for over 30 years before retiring.
Franklin was a life member of Findlay VFW Post 5645, Moose Lodge #698, American Legion, and DAV Chapter 43. He liked Cadillacs and was particularly fond of his dog, Ralph. Above all, Franklin loved spending time with his family and friends.
Franklin is survived by his children, Kevin Sterling of Florida, Chris Sterling, and Nicole Daneils, both of Findlay; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and his sister, Jean Ann (Johnny) Coppus.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his son, Todd Sterling.
Friends and family may visit from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Friday, August 8, 2025, at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd., Findlay, (419-422-1500). Funeral service will be held following at 1 p.m. Friday following visitation in the funeral home with Pastor Jim Klausing officiating. Interment will follow in Knollcrest Cemetery with the Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad conducting military rites.
