Gerald R. Heldman

Gerald R. Heldman, 81, of Mount Cory, passed away Monday, March 19, 2018 at The Heritage. He was born in Bluffton, Ohio on November 25, 1936 to the late Ira and Mary (Sheriff) Heldman. Gerald married Shirley Shroyer on July 23, 1956 and she preceded him in death. He later married Carol J. Kline in 1979 and she preceded him in death on April 21, 2014. In 1997, Gerald retired from Ford Motor Company after 40 years of service. He loved traveling, camping, fishing and working on vehicles. Gerald loved being with his family. Gerald is survived by his children, Cheryal Heldman of Tiffin, Daryal (Martha) Heldman of Tiffin, Terry (Grace) of Pandora, Brad (Patti) Heldman of Mt. Cory, Jeff (Kristy) Heldman of Mt. Cory, and Lisa (Dave) Fornof of Bluffton; 13 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brother, Paul Heldman. Gerald was preceded in death by a step-son, Darren Greer; and siblings, Matt, Louis, John, Harvey, Adelbert, Marcelle, and Laura. Friends and family may visit on Friday, March 23, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 301 Main Street, Jenera, OH 45841. A funeral service will be held at 12 noon following visitation with the Reverend Alois Schmitzer III as celebrant. Burial will follow the service in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.
