Gordon Ray Clinger, 94, of Findlay, passed away July 18, 2024, surrounded by his loving family, at Fox Run Manor under the care of Bridge Hospice.
Born July 27, 1929, in Delaware Township, he was the son of Lawrence and Beulah (McQuown) Clinger. He married Jane Cramer on August 26, 1949, who has recently preceded him in death, just after celebrating their 74th Anniversary of marriage.
Gordon graduated from Mt. Blanchard in 1947. He was a truck driver for 30 plus years then a security guard at The Courier for 20 years. Gordon loved sitting outside on warm days, spending time with family playing Euchre, crossword puzzles, and sudoku. He loved making his famous oatmeal for any family member that joined him! He was a walking calculator and kept up with his banking almost to the end! Gordon was also very thankful for all the help he received from local family members.
Left behind to cherish his memories are his six children, Sandra Fuller of Locust Grove, GA, Susan (Pat) Galbraith of Brunswick, GA, David (Liz) Clinger of Findlay, Shelley (Mike) Starr of Findlay, Shirley (Tim) Cardwell of Houston, TX, and Sally Zeller of Vandalia, OH. He was blessed with fourteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition, Gordon has a sister, Ruby (Brent) Sampson of Findlay.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one grandchild; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Patricia (Dave) Snook, and Mary (Bidge) Hickle.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you for their heartfelt caring ways to Fox Run Manor, Palliative Care, Bridge Hospice and the care givers who came into the home for him.
