Helen J. Dunlap

Helen J. Dunlap, 98, of Findlay, passed away Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Bridge Hospice Care Center. She was born on August 14, 1918 in Findlay, Ohio to the late Harrison and Ida M. (Cochran) VanDorn. Helen married Richard Dunlap and he precedes her in death. Helen loved working in her yard and decorating her home, but mostly, she loved her many friends and her family. Helen is survived by her step-daughter, Jean (Eugene) Miller of Fremont; one step-granddaughter; and two step-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her nieces, Susan (George) Kentris of Columbus, Kathie (Steve) Franz of Holgate, Debbi (Jerry) Sterling of Findlay; nephew, Robert VanDorn of Findlay; and many great-nieces; great-nephews; and her much loved cat, Zoe. Helen was preceded in death by her sister, Midge Neff Lather; and brothers, D. Joe VanDorn, and Jack VanDorn. Friends and family may visit on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500). A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. in Maple Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Helen's name may be made to the Hancock County Humane Society.
