James David Insley, 74, of North Baltimore, formerly of Benton Ridge, met his Lord and Savior and reached his eternal home in Heaven on Monday, January 19, 2026, at Bridge Hospice Care Center in Findlay.
He was born March 24, 1951, in Findlay, OH, to George and Delores (Dukes) Insley. James married Vicki Treier on March 1973, and she preceded him in death.
James was a Vanlue graduate and attended Findlay College where he earned his master’s degree. He was a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church where he enjoyed helping with the live nativity. He served as a Sunday school teacher and coached baseball and track. Additionally, he enjoyed gardening as a personal interest. James helped his children raise rabbits for their 4-H projects for nine years. He took great joy in attending and supporting his children’s and grandchildren’s activities throughout the years. James’s career included roles as a teacher, dairy farmer, and factory worker before he eventually retired from Lowe’s Distribution.
His faith in God was very important to him. James was an amazing father, husband and known for his strong work ethic, his selflessness, and loving his family deeply.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his children, Scott Insley, Jamie (Angee) Insley, Jason (Jean) Insley, Kim (Scott) Kisseberth, Brian (Shari) Insley, Kathryn (Chris) Murray, Jennifer Stark, Heather (Derek) Kuhlman, Keith (Asia) Insley, and Chelsea Insley. He was blessed with many grandchildren, Avery, Drew, Grant, and Grace Insley, Brittany (Chris) Pecora, Morgan (Josh) Ream, Nathan (Ashleigh) Insley, Cassidy, Callie, and Carson Kisseberth, David, and Julia Insley, Faith, Mason, Blake, and Autumn Murray, Ava Keller, Jaiden, Cameron, Gavin, and Devin, Aedan, and Kyra Insley, Logan, and Austin Gilbert, McKinley, and Spencer Kuhlman, Gwen, Maverick, and Amelia Insley, Teegan Insley, Harper, and Landree Finkbeiner; and great-grandchildren, Blaire, Abram, Lyla, and Kate Pecora, Keaton, Beckett, and Gannon Ream, and Asher Insley. In addition, he is also survived by his siblings, Joan Hannah, and John (Sandy) Insley.
James was preceded in death by his wife Vicki, and both his parents, George and Delores.
Friends and family may visit from 5 - 8 p.m. Friday, January 23, 2026, at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd., Findlay, (419-422-1500). A continued visitation will be held Saturday, January 24 from 10 – 11 a.m. at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, 800 S. Main St., Findlay, OH, 45840. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. at the church with Pastor Dan Metzger officiating. Interment will follow in Benton Ridge Cemetery.
