James J. Ruffing, 67, of Findlay and formerly of Carey, Ohio, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2016 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. He was born on December 22, 1948 in Findlay, OH to Joe and June (Eingle) Ruffing. James married Janette Alt and she survives him in Findlay.
James retired from Findlay Ford after 14 years of service. He enjoyed watching old western and Elvis movies and listen to Elvis music as well. He also loved to watch the Ohio State Football and basketball games. Mostly, James cherished his time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife Janette, James is survived by his father Joe of Carey; daughter, Mary Ann (Jason) Cortney of Fostoria; son, John Ruffing of Findlay; 6 grandchildren; brothers, Robert Ruffing of Carey, and Daniel Ruffing of Sycamore; and a sister, Barb (Paul) Snyder of Carey. James was preceded in death by his mother, June Ruffing.
Friends and family may visit on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 from 2 - 4 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m. at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500). A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 5 at the funeral home with Fr. Kenneth Alt officiating. Interment will follow in Knollcrest Cemetery. Memorial contributions in James's name may be made to Cancer Patient Services, Century Health, Parkinson Foundation of Northwest Ohio, or to the family in c/o Hufford Family Funeral Home.
