James Stock, Sr.

James Robert Stock, Sr., age 85, of Findlay, passed away December 5, 2023, at the Manor at Greendale. He was born March 26, 1938, in Carey, to Henry and Mary (Gobrecht) Stock. On May 21, 1994, James married Frances Smith Wolfrum.

James was a member of the 1956 graduating class at Carey High School. He then enrolled in the United States Army. He worked at National Lime and Stone in Carey for 40 years. He was a member of the Moose Lodge Findlay and 50 North Senior Center. James’ favorite hobbies were bowling and fishing.

Those left behind to cherish James’ memory are his wife, Frances; sons, J.R. (Pam) Stock, Jr., Kenneth (Willa) Stock; stepchildren, Lisa (Tim) Toman, Kara Rendek, Joshua (Emily Montiel) Wolfrum; brother, Donald Stock; sisters, Belva May, Ruth Racheter; grandchildren, Kendrick Stock and Patrick Rockow; 9 step-grandchildren; 14 step great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his first wife, Phyllis Stock; son, Timothy Stock; daughter-in-law, Jenny Stock; and grandson, Victor Stock.

Friends and family may visit from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Friday, December 8, 2023, at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd., Findlay, 419-422-1500. The graveside service and interment will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery in Carey with Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad conducting full military honors.
