Jeffery L. Swihart

Jeffery Lynn Swihart, 60, of Findlay, passed away the morning of February 5, 2020 in his home with his loving family at his side. Born June 22, 1959 in Findlay, he was the son of the late John “Larry” and Sue A. (Bishop) Swihart. Jeff married Janet “Lynn” Bassingthwaite on September 5, 1997 and she survives him.

Jeff was a truck driver/dispatcher for Hyway Trucking for 25 years. He was a strong willed patriot who loved frequent trips to Manitoulin Island with his brothers and family. Jeff enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching hockey, listening to his favorite rock band Rush, and playing air guitar. His greatest joy was being a father and Papa to his kids and grandkids.

Jeff is survived by his wife of 22 years, Lynn; son, Jeremy L. Swihart of Findlay; daughter, Kristin J. Swihart of Findlay; step-son, Garry Bowerman of Manitoulin Island, ON; step-daughters, Tammy Bowerman and Amy Wright, both of Manitoulin Island, ON; grandchildren, Emerson Mercer, Jase Swihart, Lily Swihart, all of Findlay, Julisa Bowerman, Riley Wright, John T. Wright, all of Manitoulin Island; great-grandchild, A.J. Wright. He is also survived by brothers, Tom (Glorianne) Swihart of Benton Harbor, MI, Bob Swihart of Manitoulin Island, Larry (Candace) Swihart of LaPorte, IN; sister, Launette (John) Jarema of New Lowell, ON; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Friends and family may visit Sunday, February 9, 2020 from 1:30 – 3:00 p.m. at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500). Funeral service will be held at end of visitation on Sunday at 3 p.m. with Pastor Michael McClurg officiating. Memorial contributions in Jeffery’s name may be made to Bridge Home Health and Hospice or Findlay First Church of The Nazarene.
