Jerry L. Everhart, 87, of Upper Sandusky, passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center. He was born March 18, 1938, in Crane Township, Ohio to the late Avery Everhart and Marie (Debolt) Hussey. He married Beverly Miller on May 5, 1962, and she preceded him in death. Jerry was also preceded in death by his stepfather, Earl Hussey, and sister, Marian Babcock.
Jerry attended Ohio State University and Bowling Green State University, earning his master’s degree. He was a teacher, coach, athletic director, and guidance counselor at Monroeville, Bucyrus, and Edison High Schools. His students and athletes became part of his extended family. He was elected to the Wyandot County Sports Hall of Fame, as well as the Monroeville Hall of Fame. Jerry was the Director for the Wyandot County Council on Aging for 14 years. He was an LA Dodgers baseball fan and an OSU Buckeyes football fan, where he was a season ticket holder for 60 years.
Per Jerry’s wishes, his body was donated to The Ohio State University for anatomical study.
