Jimmy Benjamin, 84, of Findlay, passed away Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Bridge Hospice Care Center. He was born on February 15, 1932 in Mt. Blanchard, OH to the late Orville C. and Hazel M. (Hickle) Benjamin. Jimmy married Anneliese T. (Sternberger) Benjamin on December 24, 1952 and she survives him in Findlay.
Jimmy proudly served his country in the U. S. Army from 1948 - 1952 serving in Germany before being honorably discharged. He started working for Cooper Tire and Rubber Company and retired after 30 years of service. He was a member of First Lutheran Church and a life member of United Steel Workers Local 207 Rubber Workers Union. Jimmy enjoyed hunting, fishing, and birdwatching, as well as spending time with his family. He was devoted to his dog Maxx, and the two were well known in the neighborhood.
In addition to his loving wife, Anneliese, of 64 years, Jimmy is survived by his two daughters, Laurie (John) Kodysh of Toledo, OH, and Karen (John) Zoll of Southampton, Ontario; six grandchildren, Robert (Beth), Jeffrey, Stephen (Angela), and Jane Kodysh, Jacob, and Jonah Zoll; two great-grandchildren, Rachael, and Olivia Kodysh. Jimmy was preceded in death by brothers, John C., and William David Benjamin; sisters, Nellie Marie Smith-Price, and Martha May Spoon, and a grandson, David Paul Kodysh.
It was Jimmy's wishes all services be kept private. HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500) has been entrusted with the arrangements. Interment will take place at a later date in Zion Bloom Cemetery, Vanlue, OH. Memorial contributions in Jimmy's name may be made to CASA of Hancock County, 211 E.
