JoAnn Elizabeth Siferd, 87, of Findlay, peacefully entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Friday, October 16, 2026, at her residence.
She was born August 6, 1939, in Findlay, to Paul E. and Helen M. (Mohr) Courtney. JoAnn married the love of her life, Jerry L. Siferd, in June 1958. Together, they shared 46 wonderful years of marriage, building a lifetime of love, memories, and devotion to one another.
JoAnn was a woman of deep faith who devoted her life to serving the Lord and caring for others. She attended Trinity Baptist Church for 43 years, where she faithfully served as a Sunday school teacher, worked with Awana, played the piano for the children, and sang in the choir. Her church family knew her affectionately as “Miss JoAnn,” a name that reflected the warmth and kindness she shared with those around her.
She worked at Jacobs School as a lunch lady, where she was known for her caring nature and friendly spirit, before retiring in 2012. To Joann, caring for others was more than something she did; it was simply who she was. She devoted her life to looking after her family, helping those in need, and extending kindness even to strangers.
Above all, JoAnn cherished her family, especially her grandchildren, who brought her tremendous joy. Her life reflected the words of Proverbs 31, which speak of a faithful woman whose children rise up and call her blessed.
JoAnn was a woman who treasured God's Word and made reading her Bible a daily part of her life. She also had a heartfelt desire for others to know Jesus as their personal Savior, sharing her faith through both her words and her actions.
Those left behind to cherish JoAnn’s memory are her sons, Rick A. (Cindy) Siferd, and Jerry L. (Suzi) Siferd II; her daughter, Robin L. Wilkins; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brothers, Terry Courtney, and Paul Courtney; and sister, Nancy Eisaman.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry L. Siferd; her parents, Paul and Helen Courtney; brothers, Bill Courtney, and Jim Courtney; sisters, Mae Peterman, Ruby Clark, and Gladice Jean Courtney; and her son-in-law, Jon Timothy Wilkins.
