John Anthony Nichols Sr., 68, of Findlay, formerly of Russellville, Arkansas, departed this life into the loving arms of His Savior, surrounded by family and friends on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Blanchard Valley Hospital. He was born October 30, 1950 in Russellville, AR to the late Charles Lee and Evelyn (Jackson) Nichols. John married his loving wife Carolyn (Mitchell) on December 18, 1971. Carolyn survives him along with sons, John Anthony Jr., and Jonathan Antonio Arlando (Laura); daughters, Rayleah and Diva Shay Sherard; grandchildren, Sierra, Gretchen, Brianna, Sophia, Hallie, Paxton, Calliope; and step-grandchildren, Deja, Novia, and Quintrell. John is also survived by his brother, Charles Lee Nichols; sisters, Velva Nichols, Jacquelyn Thompson, and Carolyn (Dewitt-Brockman); and a host of nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by a sister, Marilyn (Merle) Harris. John was an avid supporter of his grandchildren and attended all their athletic, music, and art events. He loved making memories with them and spending time with his family. He retired from Magnesium Elektron after 30 years of service. John was a member of Mentoring Men for a Higher Calling, and was always willing to help those in need. "You were a gift from God, and that you're safe above. I know I will see you again, and once more feel your love." Friends and family may visit on Saturday, February 23, 2019 from 12 - 2 p.m. at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500). A Homegoing Celebration will follow at the conclusion of visitation at 2 p.m.
