John W. Rice

John William Rice, of Findlay, passed away peacefully at the age of 42 on October 15, 2022, at Bridge Hospice Care Center. Born January 18, 1980, in Findlay, he was the son of John Rice and Teresa (Rice) Smiley.

John enjoyed the outdoors, camping and fishing. Over the years, John involved himself in many things, lawncare, working on cars, and loved his pet cat, Buddy. John loved his family immensely, but you knew the love he had for his nieces and nephew without saying a word. He also enjoyed campfires and spending time with his friends.

John is survived by his sister, Jamie L. Rice of Findlay; grandmother, Ilene Hoy; uncles, Gary Rice, Larry Rice, both of Findlay, Eldon (Judith) Hoy, Harlan (Lisa) Hoy, both of Alvada, Alan (Lorena) Hoy of Findlay, Kevin (Charlotte) Thompson, Brent Thompson, and Jim Thompson, all of Utah; aunts, Janet (Ross) Obrien of Frankfort, MI, and Debra Rice of Findlay; nieces, Jonnie Rice, Jayla Rice, Iyanna Williams, and Aubree Winters; and nephew, Karsyn Winters. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Danielle Rice.
