John C. Woodyard

John C. Woodyard Sr. 71, of Findlay, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 14, 2018 at his residence. He was born on September 17, 1946 in Newport, Kentucky to the late Robert and Anna (Moniach) Woodyard. He married Sondra Woodyard in 1968 and they shared 44 years together before she preceded him in death in 2012. John later married Phyllis Woodyard and she survives him. John served his country in the United States Army. He went on to work for the Norbalt Rubber Company for 35 years. John was a Guitar Hero fanatic, an avid Ohio State and Cincinnati Bengals fan, and he enjoyed gardening and grilling out for his family. John loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. John is survived by his wife Phyllis; children, John Woodyard Jr., Traci (Michael Russell) Woodyard, and Toni Woodyard; 5 step-children; 4 grandchildren, Shyla, Mikayla, Taylor, and Austin; great-grandchildren, Lily and Grey; a sister, Joyce Warmen. John was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry and Jim Woodyard. Friends and family may visit on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 from 1-3 p.m. at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500). The Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad will conduct full military rites at the conclusion of visitation. Interment will be held at a later date in Bechtel Cemetery. Memorial contributions in John's name may be made to Bridge Home Health and Hospice or Cancer Patient Services.
