Jon D. Smith

Jon David Smith, 62, of Fostoria, passed away on June 14, 2021 at Blanchard Valley Hospital. He was born in Bucyrus, Ohio on March 6, 1959 to David F. Smith and Marilyn (Lessig) Searson. Jon married Mary Benson and she survives.

Jon worked for 30 plus years in the food industry as a Food Service Manager. He enjoyed collecting stamps, coins, loved to garden, and woodworking.

Jon is survived by his wife, Mary; mother, Marilyn; two sons, Shawn D Smith of Bowling Green, Thomas D. Smith of Findlay; two daughters, Catherine J. Smith and Rachel M. Smith, both of Findlay; and one granddaughter, Sarah Louis Smith. In addition, surviving is also a brother, Timothy S. Smith of Upper Sandusky. Jon was preceded in death by his father, David; and step-father, James Searson.

Friends and family may visit from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on Friday, June 18, 2021 at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500). Funeral services will begin at end of visitation at 12 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Bob Green officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Jon’s name may be made to the Family in c/o Hufford Family Funeral Home.
