Karen Sue Smallwood, 71, of Findlay, passed away Thursday, November 10, 2016 at the Bridge Hospice Care Center. She was born in McComb, Oh on August 4, 1945 to the late Carl I. and Edna (Brumbaugh) Funk.
Karen was a 1963 graduate of McComb High School and attended the old Ohio State Beauty Academy in Findlay. She worked at Norbalt Rubbers for 28 years before retiring. Karen loved going to sport events and loved watching any kind of sports. She enjoyed reading and going on little adventures. Karen cherished her time with her grandchildren whom she loved dearly.
Karen is survived by her children, Anthony (Trish) Smallwood of Columbus, OH, Christopher (Adriane) Smallwood of Bluffton, OH, LaDonna (Allen) O'Nan of Tiffin, OH; and step-son, Kelly (Monica) Miller of Chagrin Falls, OH; grandchildren, Kyle Farison, Tiffany Smallwood, Ethan Farison, Reygin Smallwood, Blake Sampson, Jakob Hayman, Brooklyn Smallwood, Wyatt Smallwood, Braxston Smallwood, Gordon Miller, Christopher Miller, and Ciara O'Nan; and 3 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by sisters, Barb (Richard) Buckingham of Wayne, OH, Judy (Perry) Emmitt of Hoytville, OH, and Cindy Howe of Loudonville, OH. In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her brother, Roger Howe; sister, LaDonna Funk; and step-mother, Elenor Funk.
Friends and family may visit on Monday, November 14, 2016 from Noon - 3:00 p.m. at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500). A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions in Karen's name may be made to the Cancer Patient Services or the Armes Family Cancer Care Center.
