Lauren E. Rettig, of Jenera, passed away December 28, 2021, at Blanchard Valley Hospital at the age of 87. He was born February 4, 1934, in Findlay to Louie W. and Della M. (Crawford) Rettig. Lauren married Jane R. (Kear) on March 5, 1967, in Gibsonburg, Ohio and she preceded him in death December 23, 2010.
Lauren was a Cory Rawson High School graduate and worked as a mason for Northwestern Masonry for 27 years before retiring. He served his country in the US Army until his honorable discharge in 1962. Lauren’s greatest joy was always spending time with his family and loved his grandchildren dearly.
Lauren is survived by his son, David E. Rettig; daughter, Pearl M. (Jim) Christopher; two grandchildren, Amanda and James Christopher; two brothers, Phillip Rettig, and Alan Rettig; and one sister, Marilyn Handy. In additions to his parents, Lauren was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Rettig; and a sister, Evagene Parry.
A private family graveside service will be held in Wharton-Richland Union Cemetery, with Pastor Jim Klausing officiating. HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500) has been entrusted with the arrangements. Memorial contributions in Lauren’s name may be made to City Mission of Findlay, 510 W. Main Cross St., Findlay, Ohio 45840.
