Lawrence E. Shearer

Lawrence E. Shearer, 97, of Findlay, passed away on April 4, 2016 at Brookdale of Findlay. He was born July 11, 1918 in Delaware Township, to the late Walter and Oveda (Arnold) Shearer. Lawrence was a self-employed maintenance contractor, a life-long member of the Findlay Moose Lodge and the AMVETS. Lawrence is survived by his children, Larry (Fannie) Shearer, Susan (Kenneth) Badertscher, Diane Myers, and Vicki (Scott) Brooker; grandchildren, Ed Shearer, Colene (Jeff) Lewis, Shannon (Jim) Parlette, Shaun (Emily) Badertscher, Danny Stahl, Paula (Larry) Hammond, Michael Myers, Dan Myers II, and Bryan (Kathy) Myers. He is also survived by numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Lawrence was preceded in death by his wife of 75 years Irene (Corbin) Shearer, 3 grandchildren, Allen, Dennis, and Jason; daughter, Janis Shearer Weber, four brothers, Carl, Charles, Clyde and Kenneth Shearer, three sisters, Grace Wells, Ruth Stanfield and Helen Shearer. Friends and family may visit on Friday, April 8, 2016 from 10:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M. at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500). A funeral service will be held on Friday at noon following visitation at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Houcktown Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Lawrence's name may be made to the Honor Flight or to the Black Swamp Raptor Rehab.
