Lawrence D. Tate

Lawrence D. Tate, 82, of Lima, Ohio, formerly of Findlay, peacefully passed away Saturday, June 2, 2018 at the Lima Manor in Lima. He was born in Findlay, Ohio on April 21, 1936 to the late Wilbur Sr. and Ada M. (Holman) Tate. Lawrence was married and later divorced. Lawrence attended Findlay High School and joined the United States Marine Corp. from 1956 - 1957 before being honorably discharged. Lawrence is survived by his sons, Timothy A. Tate of Los Angeles, CA, Thomas A. (Kimberly) Tate of Findlay; daughters, Tina A. Elliott of Marion, OH and Serena (Dolphus) Smith of Findlay; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Ralph L., John W. (Deborah), and James E. Tate; and sister, Jaqueline M. Russell. Lawrence was preceded in death by two brothers, Wilbur Tate Jr. and Robert L. Tate. Sr. A private graveside service will be held in Maple Grove Cemetery with the Hancock County Veteran's Memorial Squad performing full military rites.
