Leo Lopez

Leo Lopez, 77, of Findlay passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2016 at the Bridge Hospice Care Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 3, 1939 in Toledo, OH to the late Antonio "Tony" and Frances Lopez. Leo married Halina A. Lopez on March 26, 1966. Leo grew up on the family farm in Cygnet, OH. He and his wife loved to travel places near and far, even abroad. Leo's passion was his work. He retired after 30 years from the Lima Tank Plant (General Dynamics). He continued on to work at Findlex, then for Greenline (Apio) Logistics in Bowling Green for 13 years. Leo was a very special "Papa" to Rosanna, Leon, Alana, and Cole. He loved spending time outdoors and admired low rider trucks and classic cars. Leo is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Halina; two sons, Mario Lopez of Findlay, OH, and Henry (Betty) Lopez of Texas; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Delores Gonzales of Fostoria, OH; brothers, Pete (Norma Jean) Lopez of North Baltimore, OH, and Joe (Mary) Lopez of Findlay, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Teresa A. Lopez; seven brothers, Phillip, Gusto, Thomas, Frank, Vincent, Alfonso, and Simon; and two sisters, Ruth Briseno, and Juanita Briseno, both of Chicago, IL. Friends and family may visit on Thursday, October 27, 2016 from 40:00 - 6:00 p.m. at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 28 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with a visitation from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Monsignor Michael Hohenbrink will officiate with Interment following at St. Michael's Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Leo's name may be made to the family in c/o Hufford Family Funeral Home.
