Leota B. Lafferty

Leota Blanch Lafferty, 96, of Van Buren, Ohio, met her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 6, 2018. Born in McComb, Ohio on October 23, 1921, Leota was the daughter of the late Paul E. and Florence E. (Coppus) Lentz. She married Harold Miles Barfell and they later divorced. Leota was united in marriage to her beloved husband, Robert L. Lafferty and he preceded her in death in 1983. Leota worked at the famous Laffertys Bait & Tackle in Van Buren retiring after 58 years. She loved talking to people and spreading the Lords word, attending church services and listening to gospel music. Leota enjoyed going fishing and from time to time, going for rides in the car. Her favorite food was fried chicken or fish, enjoyed watching wrestling and her favorite flower was the yellow rose. Leota is survived by her sons, Eugene, Richard, Robert, Paul (Linda), Harold (Cathy), and Edward (Cindy) Barfell; her daughter, Shirley Smith; 10 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Art and John Lentz. Leota was preceded in death by brothers, Shorty, Earl, and Dave Lentz; and sisters, Mary Hartman and Dorthy Lentz. Friends and family may visit on Sunday, June 10, 2018 from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500). A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 11th in the funeral home with Pastor Dave Clark officiating. Interment will follow in Bechtel Cemetery.
