Maria M. Casarez

Maria M. Casarez, 81, of Findlay, Ohio, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at Mercy Health – St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima.

She was born September 22, 1944, in Hondo, Texas, to Leandro and Gregoria (Rodriguez) Martinez.

Maria married the love of her life, Raymond Casarez, and together they shared many years of love and devotion until his passing in 2008.

Maria was a devoted member of Cross Way Ministries, where her faith was an important part of her life. She found great joy in reading her Bible and living out her faith each day. In her free time, Maria enjoyed crafting, watching classic black-and-white movies, and baking for her family and friends. She will be remembered for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and the love she shared with those around her.

Maria is survived by her children, Laurie Ann Duncan of Findlay and Elton John Casarez of Westerville; four grandchildren, Dustin R. Duncan, Ashley D. Dasher, Angelica M. Duncan, and Daniel J. Duncan; twelve great-grandchildren; her siblings, Carol Dias and John Pisarro; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom will cherish her memory.

In addition to her husband, Raymond, Maria was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Michael Ray Casarez; brothers, Rito Martinez, Joe Martinez, Jesse Martinez, and Frederico Martinez; and sisters, Esperanza Velasquez and Sanjana Stettler.

The family will honor Maria’s life with a celebration of life service at a later date. Maria will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband, Raymond, at the Dayton National Cemetery in Dayton, Ohio.
