Maria Christina (Tina) Chavez

Maria Christina (Tina) Chavez, 55, of Findlay, passed away Friday, January 4, 2019 at Blanchard Valley Hospital. She was born on May 3, 1963 in Bowling Green, OH to the late Cipriano and Eloisa (Mendez) Hernandez. Maria married Jorge Chavez Ramirez of Findlay and he survives. Tina was a nursing assistant at Blanchard Valley Hospital for twelve years. In addition, she worked at St. Catherine’s, Fox Run Manor, and The Heritage. She was known for her sense of humor and her ability to comfort those she cared for. Tina is survived by her daughter, Angelica Hernandez; four brothers, Armando (Diane) Hernandez, Ricardo (Diamond) Hernandez, Robert Menis, and Dan DeSilva; three sisters, Rose (Jesus) Candia, Anita (Ken) Gutierrez, and Sandra Hernandez. She is also survived by twelve nieces and nephews. Tina was preceded in death by her son, Daniel Chavez; and brother, Cipriano Hernandez Jr. Friends and family may visit on Thursday, January 10, 2019 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. A time of remembrance at 6 p.m. followed by the rosary recited at 7 p.m. at Hufford Family Funeral Home, 1500 Manor Hill Road, Findlay (419-422-1500). A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 11 at the funeral home with Fr. Mike Zacharias officiating. Interment will take place at a later date in St. Michael Cemetery.
