Martha E. Sines

Our dearly beloved sister, mom, grandma, and friend, Martha Elizabeth Sines, peacefully entered heaven’s gates on Monday, April 13, 2026, while surrounded by her loving family. She was 98 years old.

Martha was born on May 24, 1927, in Findlay to Cleon and Florence (Miller) Orton. She married Lloyd Sines on September 5, 1948, and they were married for 60 years until he passed in 2008.

Martha graduated from Findlay High School. She drove bus for 20 years for Van Buren. She attended St. Paul’s United Methodist Church through 1962, joined Calvary Baptist Church where she faithfully ministered in many capacities, including teaching Sunday school and singing in the choir for she loved music. Martha attended Calvary Baptist for 60 plus years. She recently began attending Trinity Baptist Church with her son.

Martha loved mowing her yard, crafting, music, playing games, flower gardening, sitting on her front porch swing watching hummingbirds and the setting sun, and spending time with her family and friends. But most of all, she loved her Lord Jesus. Many precious memories were created by and shared with Martha.

Those left behind to cherish her memories are her children, Thomas (Marynelle) Sines of Tennessee, Timothy (Debbie) Sines of Findlay, Jacqueline (Bryan) Riebe of South Carolina, Sherie (Bruce) Schroer of Anna, and Jeff Sines who lived at home with Martha and took great care of her. There are 14 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren, a brother, Joe (Barb) Orton, many nieces and nephews and wonderful friends.

Martha was preceded in death by her son, Gregory Lynn, both of her parents, brothers, Paul, James, David Orton; and sisters, Naomi Shadoan, Elizabeth Orton, Miriam Freed, Dorcas Kinn, Esther Williams, and Mary E. Slough. Her first daughter-in-law, Ruth Sines, and grandson, Joshua Sines.

Friends and family may visit from 5 - 8 p.m. Monday, April 20, 2026, at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd., Findlay, (419-422-1500). Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 21 at Trinity Baptist Church, 7839 CR 236, Findlay, where visitation will be for one hour prior to the service from 10 – 11 a.m. Reverend David Clark, Benjamin Jennings, and Rex August will be officiating.
