Mary Lou George, 92, of Tennessee, went to be with the Lord September 26, 2025.
Mary Lou was born September 14, 1933, in Mt. Cory, OH, to Wilbur and Arline Sampson. She married Sanford “Sam” George in 1953, and he preceded her in death.
Mary enjoyed cake decorating in her home and worked as a seamstress for a local dry cleaner and for personal customers. She was a faithful member of College First Church where she was a member of the Faith Sharers Sunday School class. Mary served as a greeter, decorated tables for the Senior Fun Night and enjoyed participating in and helping with all church activities.
She was a friend and sister in Christ to many throughout the Findlay community.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Kay (Gary) Garbers; her sisters, Eloise Stearns, and Bonnie (Frank) Mason; grandchildren, Brian Garbers, and Jason Garbers; great-grandchildren, Ty Garbers, Carolynne Garbers, Brileigh Garbers, and Sophia Wills, and her best friend, Honey.
In addition to her husband Sam and her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Randy George, and her sister, Betty Filkill.
Friends and family may visit from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at College First Church of God, 1100 N. Main St., Findlay 45840. Mary’s funeral will follow visitation at 12 noon at the church with Pastor Frank M. Mason and Pastor David Welker presiding. Interment will follow in Tawa Cemetery.
