Mary Kern

Mary Lou Kern, 80, of Findlay, passed away Monday, April 28, 2025, at Bridge Hospice Care Center. She was born in Carey to Charles and Donna (Roof) Horn on October 3, 1944. Mary was a Vanlue Local School graduate. She married Gerald Kern Sr. on February 12, 1965. She worked at Lowe’s for many years.

Mary’s hobbies include crocheting, sewing, reading, line dancing and bingo. She loved all four of her puppies, thunderstorms, going to the lake, and the paranormal. She also loved talking on the phone with friends and family. You never left her house hungry. Her greatest joy was hanging out with her grandkids and great-grandkids. She will be missed, but never forgotten.

Those left behind to cherish Mary’s memory are her loving husband of 60 years, Gerald; children, Gary (Jessi) Kern of Findlay and Karen (Devon Fleischmann) Kern of Huntington Beach, CA; grandchildren, Dustin (Kelsey) Simon and Coltin Simon; nine great-grandchildren; siblings, Jan Strait, Laura (Gary) Mauer, Bev Horn, and Jim Horn; best friend, Connie Graves; and close friends, Lynette Parker and Faye Williamson.

She was preceded in death by both parents; daughter, Tami Simon; and sister, Judy Hankins.
