Beloved husband and father, Mason A. Nims, 75, of Findlay, passed away Friday, March 10, 2017 at St. Luke's Hospital, Toledo, OH. He was born on February 10, 1942 in Providence, Rhode Island to the late Carleton E. and Esther A. (Wright) Nims.
Mason graduated from Tri-State University at Angola, Indiana in 1964 and attended Shelton College at Cape May, New Jersey for 2 years. He married the love of his life, Nancy Neuenschwander, on September 25, 1964. He was a member of the Millstream Rhythm Band, Millstream Astronomy Club, and attended the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. Mason proudly served his country in the US Air Force, serving in Vietnam, before being honorably discharged.
Mason is survived by his loving wife, Nancy, of 52 years; son, Gary A. Nims of North Baltimore; and daughter, Susan D. Nims of Findlay. He is also survived by his brother, David Nims of Xenia, Ohio; and sister, Marion Steele of Lemon Grove, California. In addition to his parents, Mason was preceded in death by a son, Gregory Alan Nims.
Friends and family may visit on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 15 at 11:30 a.m. with one hour of visitation (10:30 - 11:30 a.m.) prior to the service at the funeral home. Pastor Chet Conley will officiate. Burial will follow in Knollcrest Cemetery with the Hancock County Veteran's Memorial Squad performing full military rites. Memorial contributions in Mason's name may be made to the First United Brethren Church or to the Youth for Christ Organization.
