Matthew W. Brewer

Matthew Wayne Brewer, 40, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 29, 2021, at Blanchard Valley Hospital, surrounded by his family, after fighting a brief illness. Matt was born July 16, 1981, in Arlington, Texas to Michael B. Brewer and Pamela J. (Keeney) Novak, before moving to Findlay, Ohio, where he was raised.

Matt was such a gentle soul who adored his family and close friends more than anything. He was a supporting, encouraging, and faithful friend to many. He enjoyed going on vacations as well as quick road trips whenever possible. Matt was very passionate and dedicated to his career and cherished his relationships with co-workers. He loved his yearly family Thanksgiving feasts that he prepared at his home as well as any other family gatherings. Matt cheered for the Notre Dame Irish and enjoyed playing golf with family and friends whenever time allowed.

Matt will forever be remembered for his great smile, soft blue eyes, and his big heart. He accepted everyone for who they were and saw the good in everything.

Matt is survived by his son, Grayson; his parents; stepfather, Allen Novak; twin brother, James M. (Krystan Krucki) Brewer; and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is the grandson of the late Wayne and Leola Brewer and the late James and Donna Keeney.

The family would like to thank the ICU team at St. Vincent’s in Toledo as well as the ICU team at Blanchard Valley Hospital. Both facilities helped diligently in caring for Matt the last two months. The family would also like to give a huge thank you to Dr. Rebecca Doede for being so compassionate and caring to Matt and his family.

Per Matt’s request, an informal celebration of life gathering will be announced and held at a later date. HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500) has been entrusted with the arrangements.
