Merle R. Fenstermaker

Merle Ray Fenstermaker, 68, of Findlay, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, May 23, 2016 at Blanchard Valley Hospital. He was born on April 20, 1948 in Bluffton, OH to the late Norman M. and Treva L. (Grismore) Fenstermaker. Merle married Lois M. (Perry) Fenstermaker on July 1, 1972 and they shared 43 loving years together. Merle graduated from Cory Rawson High School and attended Cedarville College. He worked for the US Postal Service for 33 years and the Findlay City Schools for 10 years before retiring. He was Assistant Word of Life Leader at First Baptist Church and a Sunday school teacher for the 2 and 3 year olds at Calvary Baptist Church. He attended Findlay Evangelical Free Church and was a member of the Letter Carriers Union. Merle proudly served his country in the US Army serving during Vietnam before being honorably discharged. In addition to his loving wife, Lois, Merle is survived by his son, Nathan P. (Jill); daughter, Sarah J. (John); grandchildren, Mazie, McKayla, and Aiden; brothers, Ronald (Patricia), Paul, and Keith (Karen) Fenstermaker; sisters, Norma Lybarger, Karen (Mike) Walton, and Alice Fenstermaker. Friends and family may visit on Thursday, May 26, 2016 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500). A funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 27 at Findlay Evangelical Free Church with Pastor Dewey officiating. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service at the church.Memorial contributions in Merle's name may be made to Findlay Evangelical Free Church or Cancer Patient Services.
