Norman Leroy Cowell, 76, of Oregon, passed away December 2, 2024, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg.

He was born January 15, 1948, in Toledo to Marvin and Mildred (Myers) Cowell.

Norm was a 1966 graduate of Morrison R. Waite High School and served proudly in the US Marine Corp from 1967 to 1970, serving two tours in the Vietnam War. Norm was a loving father, grandfather, and the best uncle. In his spare time, he enjoyed the casino and was an avid sports fan. He loved rooting for “The” Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns.

Norm is survived by his daughter, Heather Garcia; brother, Marvin “Zip” Cowell; brothers-in-law, Patrick Flanagan, and Butch Wamer; nieces, Brandi, Angie, Mary, Kim, Tammi, Terri; nephews, Scott, Larry Jr. “Butch”, Patrick, Marvin, Eddie, Bill, Jim, Josh, Jim, and Steve; grandchildren, Sabrina, Sierra, Zaiden, Zain, and Noah; and his special great-great-niece, Renessmae.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Bev Wamer, Judy Sutter, Diane Flanagan, Linda Bollinger, brothers, James Cowell, and Larry Cowell; granddaughters, Serina Garcia; and nephew, Fred Sutter.

In accordance with Norm’s wishes, there will not be a visitation or service. A celebration of life and his service in the US Marine Corp will be planned by his family at a future date. HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd., Findlay, (419-422-1500) has been entrusted with arrangements.

Norm’s family would like to thank the amazing staff at Hospice of Northwest Ohio and St. Vincent’s Hospital Neuro ICU for the tremendous care he received during this difficult time.
