Norman E. Shank, 84, was called to the Lord peacefully, with family near, on December 25, 2021, in Findlay, Ohio. He was born September 26, 1937, to the late Ralph D. and Dortha M. (Flick) Shank.

Norman was a 1955 graduate of Liberty Benton High School. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Findlay, his master’s, and Specialist Degrees from the University of Toledo.

With 37 years as a high school guidance counselor, he spent 29 of those years as the Head Guidance Counselor of Clay High School in Oregon, Ohio where he met his beloved wife of nearly 32 years, Sue. Throughout their marriage, they enjoyed frequent trips to Michigan, Florida, Arizona, as well as Nashville and the Grand Ole Opry and Savannah.

Norm was an avid reader, a member of the Elks and a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Bowling Green. He loved having coffee with a view; cooking; listening to country music; searching for real estate; driving cars, snowmobiles, tractors, lawn mowers, golf carts; watching the Cleveland Browns; maintaining the family farm; and above all, spending time with his family and dear friends.

Norm is survived by his wife Susan (Stierwalt); daughters, Katie (John) Costantini of Park Ridge, IL, and Mary Pertner of Columbus, OH; grandchildren, Jack and Sam Costantini, and Alice and Harrison Churchill. He is also survived by adored nephews, John (Claudine) Shank, Robert (Lynn) Shank, and J.R. Shank; and five great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his dear brothers, Robert Shank and Raymond Shank; sister-in-law, Joan Shank; and brother-in-law, Tom Stierwalt.

Friends and family may visit on Monday, January 3, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500). A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. following visitation in the funeral home with Pastor Rob Spicer officiating. Interment will take place at a later date in Maple Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Norman’s name may be made to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 315 S. College Dr., Bowling Green, Ohio 43402.
